Halloween is coming up and that only means one thing: COSTUMES! This is probably the main thing I look forward to when it comes to Halloween and I’m not a huge fan of packaged costumes. If you’re like me and want unique and eye-catching costumes, check out the Top 9 Unique Halloween Costume Ideas for 2013:
2. Miley Cyrus at the VMA’s
Move over, Snooki. Here’s our new Hot Mess Halloween Costume. All you need is a nude bra and boyshorts combo/silver bodysuit (with a cartoon rat in front of it), white platform sneaks, a white foam finger and a chain necklace. Don’t forget the two mini-buns on top of your head! And your tongue hanging out permanently.
3. The Hunger Games
Even though the first movie came out in 2012, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is coming out this November so it’s only right to include it in the Unique Halloween Costume Ideas for 2013. You’re even going to be a month ahead of the trend! A bow and arrow, some black combat boots, and earthy tones should set the vibe for a perfect Katniss Everdeen costume. Make sure to pin a Mockingjay!
4. Amanda Bynes
Actually, rescind my Hot Mess of 2013 Nominee. Amanda Bynes completely takes the cake. Really all you need is a super messy blonde wig (or mega tease your real hair until it looks like 5 days worth of no showers), some faux cheek piercings, atrocious make-up and huge sunglasses to hide your identity. And then call people “ugly” all night long.
5. Duck Dynasty
Anything with full beards and mossy oak is an obvious Duck Dynasty costume! For the ladies who prefer not to cross-dress, you can pretend to be a duck wife and nag your man to be one of the Robertsons. Willie’s American Flag bandana is a must!
With the boom of every social network comes its costume being brought to life for Halloween. You can either be a logo or a classic #selfie! You can even tint some plastic cover for a filter effect. Hilarious!
7. The Royal Family
This one is pretty obvious if done right. The hair must be perfect! Make sure to wave to people graciously, too. I wish all my friends with pretty brunette hair would do this because Kate Middleton is one of my favorite people in the world (because, you know, we’re close friends and all that).
8. Pitch Perfect
Who doesn’t love this movie? There are many possibilities here. You can pull off a Beca, a Fat Amy, or even a Barden Bella costume! Use catch phrases like “Aca-scuse me?” or “Aca-believe it!” You can even sing in acapella. By yourself. Unless you get an entire team to do this with you.
Ahh, the ever-so-hilarious e-cards! They’ve taken over Facebook and it’s time to take the next step. Try making a card that says dressing provocatively does not constitute as a Halloween costume (although nobody dig up my 2010 costume please). It would be cooler if you paint yourself in black and white, like the lady in the middle did.
