One of the things you might notice about me is that I’m not good at literally “dressing for the occasion.” I’m not the type to wear red and green during the holidays, and I don’t own an American flag shirt to sport for the 4th of July. But one way that I do love to express my spirit and enthusiasm is through my makeup looks! Here are a few ideas where you can rock the classic red, white, and blue through beauty products!
- BOLDFor this look, I used the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Aquamarine Dream, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, Sonia Kashuk Full Glam Eyelashes, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm, and NYX Blush in Pink
In need of a bold look? A pop of color can make a huge difference. Use NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk as your base to make any eye shadow pop, just like it did for the Pixi Aquamarine Dream colors. Simply add eyeliner and some bold eyelashes (I like the Sonia Kashuk ones!) to pull off this patriotic look!
For this look, I used Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Aquamarine Dream, NYX Shine Killer, and NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick in Cherry Skies.
For an even bolder look, some sparkly eyes and a strong lip color is the next step up. I used the Pixi Palette to line my eyes and added glitter to represent the “stars”! Because your eyes are already going to be sparkly, make sure your face is completely matte so you don’t look like a greasy disco ball. NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick Cherry Skies is the perfect shade to pull this look together because it’s a mute red that complements the glitter instead of clashing with it.
For this really bold look, I used Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Aquamarine Dream, Sonia Kashuk Full Glam Eyelashes, NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick in Sandstorm, NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick in Cherry Skies, and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Polish.
I consider this the boldest look since it tackles some trends that a lot of people are hesitant to try: colored brows, ombre lips, and embellishments! I used the Pixi Palette to do my eyebrows (how versatile is that?) and a little bit on my outer corners. I added star-shaped rhinestones and applied them with the eyelash glue from the Sonia Kashuk Full Glam Lashes, which I’m also wearing. For the lips, apply NYX Liquid Suede in Sandstorm, and line the outer corner with Cherry Skies. Then blend, blend, blend! For my nails, I used this cute Sally Hansen Color+Shine set with all the patriotic colors already included! I used blue on my thumb and alternated red and white to symbolize the stripes.
