Get it? Like poppin’ champagne but… chambray? ANYWAY, I’m so incredibly excited about this month’s #DiversityChic! It’s been a scorching hot summer, and it looks like the sun has zero plans of going away any time soon. But I’ve learned that if you do need to be outside, any time after 6pm and somewhere under the shade (any shade that’s #KimExposedTaylorParty or cooler is ideal) is actually not bad! We still have some sort of breeze and I’m thankful for that. I’ll take anything at this point. Mother Nature was kind to us when we had our little picnic and we were honestly at the most breathtaking park in Farmer’s Branch! Oh, and if for some reason you don’t know who Jaclyn is (but how could you not because she’s one of my favorite bloggers), you can find her at Jaclyn Mittman, previously Pretty Petals. Spoiler alert: she is the queen of skin care products.
For those of you who don’t know what Diversity Chic is, here’s a little tidbit:
“Diversity Chic is a collaboration of Dallas bloggers showcasing current fashion trends on a variety of skin tones, hair colors, body types and heights. Each month we will feature a new trend tailored to our personalities and style.
Our focus is to explore the world of fashion in its unique, diverse, and stylish manner – one trend at a time.”
Clearly, this month’s theme is quite fittingly chambray. It’s denim’s carefree, breathable, and softer cousin, which is perfect for the summer! Like in every Diversity Chic installment, we take a trend and wear it how we normally would. I am loving how this accurately showcases the flexibility of chambray with TRUE diversity in body shape, skin tones, hair color, height, and personal style. I have quite an array of chambray pieces so it was somewhat difficult to choose what to wear, but this top as I’ve stated on Instagram was part of my “OMG I can wear this outfit every day for summer” ensemble, so I figured it’d be perfect for this shoot! I really have worn this an embarrassing number of times, but I’m not even mad. It’s a cute and summery top and I really wish I had this in several other colors.
