For those of you who don’t know, one of my BFF’s Valery Brennan started a new venture called Everyday Unicorns. I really feel like it’s more of a belief system than just a brand, because Everyday Unicorns is a reminder that we are all unique in our own ways, that it’s OKAY to be different, and most importantly, that we all deserve equal rights. Pretty simple, right? It seems that it’s one of the main misconceptions about feminism: it’s not man-hating (because that would be misandry), it’s just really the advocacy of women’s rights for equality, and a quick Google search of the word feminism will tell you exactly that if you don’t believe me. Everyday Unicorns even goes beyond that to advocate for intersectional feminism, with the more inclusive awareness of how overlapping social identities (like race and religion) relate to oppression and discrimination (again, a quick Google search will tell you that). Valery created these designs which are a few of many on the website, and I was so proud to sport them along with my other #DiversityChic bffs to stand behind the Everyday Unicorns mission statement! I legit start feeling nauseous when I start thinking about the times that I’ve been touched without consent, and nobody else should ever have to go through that. If a cute crop tee can help send the message out that it’s NOT okay (and I can’t believe that’s still something that people need to be told in 2017), then I shall wear this shirt every chance I can get.
I’m wearing the Donut Touch Crop in M/L!
