I may be the first person on the planet to consistently go to the gym for a year and not have any physical improvements! Isn’t that odd? But this year I’m going to push myself. Just this month I’ve upped the weights, used machines I haven’t used before, and adding more cardio to my workouts. Cute outfits definitely help with gym motivation!
I had unicorn hair for most of 2017, but boy did I put it through the ringer. It was already bleached pretty light, then in September of 2016 I permanently went brown, and December of 2016 I went back to bleaching it. TWICE. Back to back. It was bad. And I just kept trying to lighten it every time, but my hair’s integrity would deplete. I ended up with a lot of damaged, broken hairs and split ends. It may sound shallow but it really made me feel down, so now I’m doing my best to give my hair a lot of love. I’ve started using Schwarzkopf Gliss™ Ultimate Repair Shampoo, Conditioner, and Mask, which I picked up at my local CVS. It’s been working WONDERS– it’s so good that it won the Allure Best of Beauty Award for best shampoo & conditioner for damaged hair! Gliss products have Hair-Identical Keratin, which replaces the lost Keratin for re-gained strength and smoother hair surface. It can repair up to 10 layers deep! My hair has finally been feeling soft and looking back to normal, and is recovering from the brittle, dry, damaged texture. It’s just truly a great everyday hair care routine to achieve that strength and moisture that everyone with damaged hair looks for.
Since I failed in goal setting and block scheduling last year, I’ve committed to making that a priority this year. So far, so good! I’ve written down weekly AND monthly goals as well as daily to-do lists, and I have accomplished so much more than if I didn’t write them down.
- Food/DietNew year, new dietary restriction. I now have to include going dairy-free in my lineup! I’m still somewhat grieving that loss, but just like I’ve overcome going gluten-free and finding substitutes for my favorite dishes, I know I’ll get through this as well. I’ve been dairy-free for a week and I have yet to see my Celiac Disease symptoms resurface! I’m teaching myself to just enjoy healthy food in general so it’s not as miserable in my mind.
- Me Time
I regrettably did not do enough of this last year and I drove myself up a wall. I’ve literally had to write a specific time down just for me to unwind and disconnect. Working online can make you feel virtually trapped but I need some time to be able to restore and reset my mind, so scheduling some downtime not only brings balance to my work weeks but it also gives me something to look forward to!
Like I mentioned earlier, The entire Gliss Ultimate Repair line can be found at CVS, in the hair care aisle:
