School is almost in session for my 5-year-old, and I absolutely cannot wait! While there is no doubt that I will be that mom that cries while the kid gets sent off to their classroom, I’m actually the most productive during the school year when I wake up early and have a concrete schedule. It took me a while to get into the groove of things but now I look forward to having my old working mom routine back once Kindergarten commences! Here’s how I maximize productivity, all while using my brand new Samsung Galaxy S8+ that I picked up from Target!
1. Schedule Your Day With Alarms And Calendar Events
I typically still hand-write on my planner, but I NEED my alarms. I set about 6 from waking up, to FOR REAL waking up, to getting dressed, to making sure we are out the door by a certain time. It’s a process, but it’s one that works. My son was NEVER tardy for school– not even once! I also set an alarm to make sure I leave to pick him up. I basically depend on these alarms I’ve set on my Galaxy S8+ because I know that my son is depending on me.
2. Don’t Be Afraid To Sweat & Work Hard
The first thing I do after dropping my son off at school is go to the gym. I know it’s not for everybody, and if you told me 4 years ago that this was going to be my life I would have laughed at you. But the gym actually sets as a good precedent for the day and somehow I’m more energized and motivated to get things done when I sweat my butt off. Speaking of sweat, did you know the GS8 and GS8+ are water resistant? It can handle a splash or an accidental water dunk. It’s also handy for providing me with gym tunes. My favorite music streaming app did so well and I LOVE the earphones that came with the phone! The mic buttons act as a remote for music playing when plugged into the audio jack.
After the gym, I usually like to go to a local cafe, eat breakfast, and get started on some work. This is when I normally read or respond to emails, calls, text messages, and do what I can from my phone. The fast processor really helps with making the most out of breakfast time!
In between working online, I like to take breaks and check my social media accounts. I am a blogger too after all, so I consider online browsing/posting part of “work time” but it also helps me catch up with my friends and family (especially overseas). I do a lot of Instatories and unboxing videos, and I am in LOVE with the infinity screen! Just look at how much of the phone my instastory takes up? I am now in awe watching other people’s Instagram stories, too. Somehow seeing people’s content from edge to edge makes it all come to life!
4. Work Hard, Play Hard / Saving Memories
I mentioned earlier that I try to get all of my work done before my son comes home from school, so when he’s with me we get to do more things together. Currently he plays T-Ball and takes ballet classes, and I never want to miss any part of it! I’m the mom that takes photos of everything so I can share these memories with family and friends. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ has a micro SD card slot so you can expand your storage with no fear of having to delete photos in the middle of a big event (SD card sold separately).
I purchased my GS8+ at my local Target. Their tech attendant was very helpful in getting me set up. Target is actually the best place to make the switch/upgrade because you will receive a $200 Target GiftCard(TM) with the purchase of a GS8 or GS8+! Make sure to check back here for any future promotional updates that might be available with the purchase of a GS8 or GS8+ from Target.
