Yesterday was probably the sunniest that Texas has been in all of 2016 and it was glorious! It was a much-needed sunny day (and sort of a tease seeing the flooding that occurred today) and I’m glad we were able to make the most of it. The sky cleared up for us to have a gorgeous afternoon to have a pool party that doubled as a Diversity Chic shoot!
For those of you who don’t know what Diversity Chic is, here’s a little tidbit:
“Diversity Chic is a collaboration of Dallas bloggers showcasing current fashion trends on a variety of skin tones, hair colors, body types and heights. Each month we will feature a new trend tailored to our personalities and style.
Our focus is to explore the world of fashion in its unique, diverse, and stylish manner – one trend at a time.”
I am loving this month’s theme: swim cover-ups! I somewhat stepped outside the box for this. Before even planning a theme, I found myself at Forever 21 trying to purchase something with my store credit. I found this pink mesh bodysuit and for some reason, I couldn’t get myself to let go of it. I truly had no use for it, and I knew there was a potential for it to look like a rave outfit on me, but I still wanted it. I felt it was worth standing in line for what felt like 20 minutes. And no regrets! When the pool party/swim cover-up opportunity came about, it seemed like the perfect time to rock my pink mesh bodysuit. It’s unique and serves as a great cover up even though it’s not something one would instantly think of! Pair it with some denim shorts and you’re good to lay poolside.
