Being constantly on-the-go, I always tend to take shortcuts just to save myself some time. It would probably take me hours just to put my makeup on but I don’t really have the luxury to do that. I mostly end up having to bring my makeup with me and just put some on whenever I find the time. It would even be nice if I could take long baths everyday but unfortunately, there are more things that need my attention. Like sleep, for one. So for those of you who consider long baths a rare occasion and getting your hair and full makeup done every single day a luxury, here are some time-saving beauty hacks!
1. Style Your Hair WHILE You Get Ready
I wish I could tell you how many times I’ve attempted multi-tasking while curling/styling my hair. I always think “I could be putting on eyeshadow right now!” Unfortunately, I only have two hands– both being necessary to curl hair with a styling tool. However, I was so desperate in finding a way to have fabulous hair without having to wake up early for it. Basically what I do is either the night before or first thing in the morning, I heat up a fully fabric headband (no metal or glue) in the microwave for a few seconds, wrap it around my head, and then tuck and roll my hair around it. Think of it as a circular corndog with your hair being the batter. Whenever you’re ready to go, just pull it out and you have gorgeous curls! I love this because it curls WHILE I do other things around the house.
2. Perk Your Face Up with Bronzed Moisturizer
If you have dull skin, add some glow by mixing in bronzing powder to your face moisturizer or foundation. You can cut down your makeup application time while adding dimension to your look! I actually prefer doing this over applying bronzer AFTER because this gives me a more even coverage.
3. Moisturize With Wet Skin
Here’s a fairly new concept but equally genius: why not moisturize while your pores are still open? Apply this Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer (which you can find at Target) to your wet skin and it’ll leave your skin soft for 24-hours.
I’m not even joking on the 24-hours. I’m a night-time-showering type of gal and I’ve been putting this on right after– no rinsing needed! My skin still ends up feeling so smooth and smelling so good the next day! If you want to grab one for yourself, Target Circular Ad is offering 5% off on Jergen’s Wet Skin Moisturizer, available 9/13!
4. Have Multi-Functional Items In Your Makeup Bag
If you tote around your makeup essentials a lot like I do, it helps to have multi-functional products to save time AND space. I use contouring sets as eyeshadow AND brow powder. That’s 3-in-1! You can use cream blushes as lip stains as well. Forgot mascara? You can brush up your eyeliner on your lashes to achieve the same look!
5. Dry Shampoo
This is seriously a beauty product essential for me. Because I have colored hair, I try to preserve it by not washing my hair too often. I have very oily roots so spraying some dry shampoo on to my scalp when it’s starting to look flat helps a ton. I save so much time not having to wash my hair every day (believe me, it’s a long process) and it keeps me looking fab!
